An exciting opportunity has arisen, to work within a leading charity, for a Head of FP&A.  You will become part of a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team, in this organisation based in London.

Purpose of the Role

  • Responsible for financial planning and reporting for the organisation including delivery of budgets, forecasts, monthly management accounts and longer term financial modelling.  This role supports strategic planning and building finance capability across the organisation.  
  • Key Accountabilities / Objectives
  • Supervise the month end process carried out by FP&A and review monthly management accounts and narrative to ensure that variances against budget/forecast are highlighted.
  • Develop management reporting tools/dashboard to aid business management.
  • Oversee the forecast process and support teams to manage within their approved budget allocations.
  • Review the consolidated and departmental detailed annual budgets 
  • Maintain the long term financial model, identifying risk areas, performing sensitivity analysis on assumptions and scenario planning.
  • Develop business cases and other financial models (e.g. for new income streams, staff modelling) as required to support the organisational decision making processes and to provide information to the Directors.
  • Produce papers for and attend Finance & Risk Committee and Trustees as appropriate.
  • Support the year end process, providing information to the Financial Control team and Auditors as required.
  • Take responsibility for the reporting tool (Jet) and lead development of report templates.
  • Line manage and support the Finance Business Partners including setting of appraisals and development plans.

Essential Education and Skills 

  • Qualified accountant with relevant post qualified experience. 
  • Extensive experience of using finance systems, reporting tools, of working in FP&A and managing staff.
  • Sound knowledge of Charities SORP and statutory accounting regulations.
  • Experience of training non-finance staff to understand financial information.
