Do you want lead the creative and design strategy for the Mayor of London? Creating campaigns that engage every single community and every part of our city? We have a rare opportunity to join a high profile and well respected team at a time when the creative and marketing strategy is being redefined.


You’ll work alongside the Head of Marketing Campaigns to deliver the new marketing and creative strategy for the Mayor. This is an exciting time to join the Mayor’s External Relations team, leading a team of talented designers and creatives. 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the Mayoral Director for External and International Affairs and the Assistant Director, External Relations in the development of the Mayor of London’s brand and creative vision
  • Help promote creative excellence across all campaigns, promoting the brands and guidelines, delivering recognition of the work of the Mayor and building compelling
  • Act as a quality controller for all creative assets and publications at City Hall, ensuring they reflect the Mayor’s vision and ethos, his key principles and are in line with brand research
  • Support the Assistant Director to ensure that the Creative Services function delivers a responsive and high quality level of service
  • Act as a Creative Director for in-house creative campaigns, photo shoots, video and experiential activity delivering inspirational and award winning work. 

Person Specification

  • Experience working on high profile campaigns with complex audiences and propositions
  • Significant experience of graphic design, typography, digital design, production, traffic scheduling, and experiential design, including use of Adobe CS4, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other relevant industry tools.
  • A strong background in proposition building, storyboarding, art-directing for photo shoots and delivering award winning campaign work.
  • Digital through and through – robust experience of digital campaigns and marketing, digital transformation, email, social media and measuring performance.

As the Mayor’s Head of Creative, you will have significant impact and influence in helping to manage the Mayor’s relationship and engagement with London’s communities, businesses and Londoners as a whole.

This role is part time and will be 18.5 hours per week. You will need to work a minimum of 3 days a week and is not a job share arrangement
